Each year CMRS recognizes outstanding papers written by OSU students in medieval or renaissance courses with our Stanley J. Kahrl and Barbara A. Hanawalt Awards for best undergraduate and graduate student essay. In spring, papers are nominated by CMRS faculty affiliates, and judged by a committee of affiliate faculty and the CMRS Director. Award winners receive a $150 prize. For additional information about the nomination process, please see page 2 of the Nomination Form or contact cmrs@osu.edu.
