Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

CMRS Events

Each year, the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies hosts a series of interdisciplinary events aimed to share research and foster discussion on Medieval and Renaissance topics. Our lecture series brings scholars from around the country and the world to present cutting-edge research on a wide range of topics and eras. Our film series presents diverse Medieval- and Renaissance-themed films for viewing and informal discussion. Our CMRS colloquia allow faculty and grad students across campus and beyond to share their research with their peers and students, while our annual faculty symposium allows different faculty members each year to organize a mini-conference on a specific topic. Our celebration of ‘popular culture and the deep past’ explores a different theme every other year, including both academic and fan-based perspectives. Finally, we host a variety of other conferences, talks and co-sponsorships as the occasion arises.
