The annual film series is back! This year, we're focusing on magic and witchcraft to align with our CMRS undergraduate GE course of the same name (MedRen2666). Join us on select Wednesdays in 180 Hagerty Hall to see a classic film about various portrayals of witches and witchcraft in history, followed by a brief talk and Q+A. Pizza and refreshments will be served. These screenings are free and are open to all.
This month will feature Stardust, based on Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel of the same name. Stardust (2007) follows Tristan Thorn, a young man from the mundane village of Wall who crosses into the magical kingdom of Stormhold to retrieve a fallen star and win the heart of his haughty love interest. Upon arriving at the crash site, Tristan discovers the star is actually a living, luminous woman named Yvaine, who possesses a magical heart capable of granting eternal youth. As the two trek back across the realm, Tristan must defend Yvaine from a ruthless witch seeking her heart to restore her beauty, as well as bloodthirsty princes competing for the throne of Stormhold—a perilous journey during which Tristan discovers his own royal lineage and finds true love along the way.
