Please join us on the second Friday of every month during the autumn semester for a casual gathering with the humanities community. “What the….? Fridays” coffee chats are conceived as opportunities to gather and assess current conditions—whether frightening or reassuring—in an informal yet informed manner. We aim to have three of these events during the Autumn 2024 semester: September 12, October 11 and November 8, each from 10 - 11:30 am. Join us!Previous topics have included questions of free speech, harmful speech, academic freedom and academic responsibility. In the context of what's going on in the world outside of OSU, let’s take some time with each other to share our understandings of big issues and brainstorm ideas for how to uphold the best values of our work. Be sure to bring a sense of openness and a willingness to listen, along with your strongest commitments to our conversation space. This event is free and open to the public.  455 Hagerty Hall Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies cmrs@osu.edu America/New_York public
