Wexner Center for the Arts, First Thursdays
This month, the HI Makerspace is partnering with the Wexner Center for the Arts Community Studio for their First Thursdays monthly celebration.
First Thursdays features a variety of arts and culture experiences at the top of each month at the Wex- join them to watch a film, have a snack, listen to live music, peruse the bookstore and galleries, make arts and crafts in Community Studio, attend a talk, panel, performance or event with friends.
For the March 5 edition of First Thursdays, featured events will include the Night of Ideas: every year, the Institut français invites all places of culture and knowledge in France and across the world to celebrate together the free circulation of ideas and knowledge. This night is described as "an emblematic event for the Institut français and the cooperation and cultural action network in the field of the diplomacy of ideas and knowledge."
Paper flowers will be our focus as we offer examples and demos on how to create crepe and tissue paper flowers for hair garlands to wear or take home. Stop by to make a floral headband or garland to get ready for the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies' mini Renaissance Faire on April 11th. We'll also have medieval coloring pages and supplies for watercolor painting and collaging.
This event is free, open to the public and welcoming to everyone.
