👑 Feast Like It’s 1499: Call for Cooks!

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all campus foodies, history buffs and culinary adventurers. The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (CMRS) is throwing a historic food fair, and we want you to bring the flavor.

Whether you are a student looking to try a weird old recipe, a faculty member ready to show off your kitchen skills or a friend of the Center who just loves good food—we want you on the menu!

Travel back in time with us for an evening of food, fun and casual conversation on Thursday, September 10 at 5 pm. Location is TBD, but most likely in Hagerty Hall.

🍳 The Challenge

We are looking for individuals to cook up an authentic Medieval or Renaissance dish, bring it to the event, and share it with a hungry crowd. Dishes should be small portions (think appetizers or hors d’oeuvres), with 40-50 pieces or mini servings.

Think of it like a historic food science fair:

• Set up your station with your dish.
• Briefly introduce your creation to other guests.
• Chat, answer questions and eat! It’s an informal, fun evening of food and conversation.

💰 Get Your Ingredients Reimbursed!

The CMRS is offering up to $50 in reimbursement for your ingredients. Just make sure to save your receipts!

⏳ How to Claim Your Spot

Spaces for cooks are limited, so secure your spot at the table:

1. Pick a recipe from the Medieval or Renaissance era.
2. Submit your proposal via email to cmrs@osu.edu. Just a few sentences describing the food and main ingredients will suffice.

3. Deadline: No later than noon on Friday, September 4. 

    

Please RSVP as a presenter by the deadline so we know how many tables to set. Let's see what you can cook up!
