Passing of Professor Emeritus Anne Morganstern

The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies is sad to announce the recent passing of Professor Emeritus Anne Morganstern, CMRS affiliate faculty from the Department of the History of Art. Professor Morganstern's primary area of expertise was in the history of European Late Medieval and Northern Renaissance figurative arts, the Iconography of Gothic tombs, Art Patronage, and Medieval French and English heraldry. She presented her research at a variety of conferences, including those of the College Art Association of America, the Medieval Congress at Kalamazoo (MI), the International Congress of the History of Art, and the Midwest Art History Society. She was a contributing author to Gothic Sculpture in America. Her work has been supported by grants from the ACLS, NEH, and CASVA (National Gallery of Art).
There will be a memorial service for Anne at her church, the First Congregational Church (downtown at 444 E. Broad St., just west of the Columbus Museum of Art), on Wednesday, May 28 at 10:30 am. Following the service, informal conversations will be hosted at the church.
