A greeting from the Medieval and Renaissance Graduate Student Association!
The Medieval and Renaissance Graduate Student Association (MRGSA) has been hard at work offering professionalism opportunities and building community amongst OSU’s graduate students. A major focus of the association this year is to build community both at OSU and amongst the broader academic world. To that end, a couple of our members have joined as councilors for the Medieval Association of the Midwest and are helping to form a possible graduate student conference for next fall, focused on monsters in medieval and Renaissance studies.
In September, MRGSA hosted another event in our Pastries and Professionalization series. “Resumes and CVs and Portfolios, Oh My” had a great turnout full of useful information on preparing for the job market. Additionally, MRGSA went as a group to the Ohio Renaissance Faire for the second year in a row! We had a blast exploring all the fascinating ways the medieval and Renaissance are adapted at these events. (And enjoyed a turkey leg or two and some pickles from the iconic pickle vendor of the Faire – can’t miss those!)
If you are interested in joining MRGSA, or have any questions overall about the association, please reach us at mrgsaosu@gmail.com
